Harvesting

Harvesting module will cover all water harvesting strategies including hard surface run off such as roofs, drive ways and even catchment of water from the road. We will show you how to make a first flush system that will keep all the dirt from going into your water tank. We will also cover in detail a variety of earthworks and show you how to construct terraces with logs and curvilinear low cost sandbags tops that maximises on all the rain that does wall down and stop all soil erosion. We will also construct swales made entirely from you and your neighbours' garden waste. These contour line earthworks will catch soil and nutrients from uphill and store incredible abundance of water in your soil for slow release to your plants.

Storage

In this module we will practically cover the theory behind successful water storage. The do's and the don'ts. We will guide you step by step on how to create your own extremely durable and long lasting sand bag water tank that can attach to a straight house surface. We will also construct from start to finish a low cost ferro cement tank that will cost you 1/4 of a plastic one and will outlast it by a additional 50 + years.

I will guide you through a construction of a 40000 litre underground water tank that will soon be a support for an entire house that will be constructed above it. With this hidden water tank no-one will even know that you have water and for those tight spaces this is a perfect opportunity to have a lot of water under a driveway / garage or even a house. As a cherry on top I will also go through the details on how I converted my 120.000 pool into a back up storage that I can swim in and irrigate from.

Filtration &

Delivery

In filtration module we will cover an entire process of creation from start to finish of a Slow Sand Bio Char Filter. From making your own gassifier that has no smoke to making the biochar from Invasive species of Alien hard wood. We will cover the plumbing and all the components of this 4 stage low tech and low cost filter (100 USD cost ). The filter will deliver 300 Litres of water per day for 3 years after which the biochar will need to be replaced and another 3 years of delivery guaranteed for indefinite period of time. I will also show you how to make your own vortex pipe that I bought for 800 USD. You will be able to make this water enlivening copper vortexes for under 30 USD. We will cover the benefits of magnetized water and how magnets can be be incorporated on your pipes . After this module you will be able to treat your own city rain water to super drinking quality water re-mineralised with seashells and stones that you have found on your adventures. I will go through in detail how we plumbed the system off government grid and connected our biochar filter to entire home with a pressurised pump. Up Cycling

This is our favourite module, here we practically show you how to create your own wetland for grey water treatment , i.e. all of your bath and shower water, so this resource can safely be used for irrigation of organic vegetables, flowers and herbs without clogging the soil with soapy salts. We will also show you how this grey water that you used yesterday to bath with can flush the toilet today. Wetlands of various shapes and sizes made of 3 different low cost and easily available materials will be showcased and debriefed. Full constructions practicalities are explained in detail set by step from start to the end of each project in all of our modules . Two styles of wetland types will be constructed, one with visible water and the other with floating plants as well as a wetland where water travels in the stone and the plants are rooted without any visible water on the surface. We will also go into a lot of detail on how to construct a grease trap for under 20 USD that can treat kitchen water that it can irrigate your herbs or fruit trees passively with gravity flow. We will also create a sewerage treatment wetland from beginning to end and plant it out with aquatic plants. This wetland will treat all water from your biogas digester / septic tank safely with out any smell

Food machine

This is a really fun and easy project where I will show you how you can easily construct a food growing machine that can grow over 100 vegetables and herbs on 1.2 square metres. It also grows 15 trays of micro greens and wheat grass as well as nursery seedlings on the non sunny side. It is self irrigated from your grey water or can be combined with it's own wetland. Two sizes will be shown . We will go through the drip irrigations, tiny valves that sprinkle just over the trays , what varieties of plants to that will drive at different locations of plants. We will construct a worm tower that gets positioned in the middle of the food growing machine that automatically drips out earthworm tea. This food machine is perfect for small spaces as little under 1 square metre. The entire food growing machine can be constructed for less than 100 - 200 USD (depending where you live)

Getting to Self Sustainability was not easy as Alosha did not have a full practical road map

Alosha acquired the water wisdom through extensive experimentation, coupled with hundreds of sketches over the last decade.
